Since before school went on break, my best friend Hailey has been saying that she is going to come visit me after surgery. Well, yesterday 12/27, she did! She asked for my address again a couple days before, but she wouldn’t tell me when she was coming. Yesterday around 10ish she knocked on my door asking if I was awake. I was wide awake after that, it definitely made my day! She brought me flowers and takis. She then painted my nails, we just chatted, and watched TV and movies together. As well as, dabbled with some makeup. It was just amazing having her here! She even bought pizza, which she didn’t have to do. We pretty mush spent half the day together from 10-3. Honestly, I just want to thank you so so so much Hailey, for coming to see me! You are an amazing friend. You brightened up my day!
Camp this year was so amazing! It was my third year going to CIF and I honestly think this was the best year for me. I am so thankful to the people put this on and make all the things we get to do possible. I am so many amazing friends this year and got to see some old friends and counselors. I am kinda sad that I am graduating next year, but I definitely want to be an LIT.
Again thank you to everyone who made this possible! I had so much fun this year and its thanks to so many amazing people!
I still can’t believe that this 2016/2017 school year has come to a close. I feel like it went by fast but also slow at the same time (if that makes any sense). Today June 8, 2017 was our last day of school! I am going to be a Junior next year and I am going to be 17 in October. Man, where has the time gone…… I can’t wait to see what the future holds as my last two years of high school approach.
This week (Monday-Thursday), we had exams. I have been working my butt of to get here today. I am so proud of what I have accomplished.
Now it’s time to enjoy summer!
Last night I went to one of my first big outtings in A WHILE! I got free tickets to go to a concert thrown by Fresh Empire that featured DJ So Hype and Miss Mulatto. My sister and I were screaming when the guy told us about the tickets in the first place. I was so excited about it that when I got home, that that night I ordered tickets for my sister, a couple friends, and I to go.
Well it was last night and I had a blast! We danced A LOT, took pictures, listened to Miss Mulatto, and overal enjoyed ourselves! I stood and danced all night long. Mind you this was the longest I have stood for in a while. It didn’t start until 8 and went until 11. As well as danced. I barely danced at my 8th grade dance and was in a wheelchair at Homecoming last year, so I was proud of myself for dancing for that long. I was very proud of myself, my first big outting in a long time. God works in wonderful ways! I thankhim for giving me the strength and energy to get through last night! I also want to thank Fresh Empire for doing this for us teens! Something awesome for us to do instead of being out on the streets all night getting into trouble.
My first week back to school was beyond amazing! Monday, August 29th I started my my first week of Sophmore year.
It started of a little rough, but that soon changed! My teachers are so amazing and want the best for me. I am so thankful to have teachers who push me and want the best for me.
This year I am taking Spanish 2 Honors, Sophmore Studies/Drivers Education, Fashion 2, Photography 1, Algebra 2, Chemistry Honors, World History, and English 10 (Pre-AP) Honors. I am so excited for this school year. I have been doing so much better health wise and will not have to miss school a lot, like I did year.
I am really looking forward to this year. My teachers seen really nice, helpful, and caring. I am looking forward to creating relationships with my teachers and making new friends. I am also ready to work hard and be dedicated to my work. Here is to the school year of 2016-2017.
Hello guys! I want to share with you my week. Although, I wasn’t feeling well one day, the rest of the week was great. God was with me all week as I commuted to school; I was having some problems with motion sickness. I enjoy school and learning new things. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to go to school and have the joy of learning. My teachers are so sweet and supportive. I love my school and can’t wait to see what Sophomore year holds for me next school year.
This year was my sister and I’s second time and my brother first. We were known by our camp names. Me – Sweet Cheeks, my sister – Rose Blossom and my brother – Dino Jr. The YMCA staff and counselors were so inviting! As the buses drove up the drive way the sprayed them with water guns. We were greeted with excited screams and lots of beautiful and inviting smiles.
We had a game night, we went zip lining, we also played Alpha Wolf, Catch the Cartoon at night and so much more! One of my favorites we did was, The Leap of Faith, where you climb up a tree and jump off a small ledge and try to catch a bar. Some people try to do push ups while on the bar others act like they are angelic angels as the are brought down.
On our last day we had a dance/party! Chet Buchanan was there and a DJ. There were was a photo booth for all of us to capture the memories of 2015 Camp Independent Firefly. Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Snow Cones were some of the snacks there. Chet played a video made by the camera and video crew of all of the fun we had at camp and all of the memories.
I was so happy to see my siblings smiling and having so much fun! I want to thank Candlelighters and the YMCA staff for giving all of us an amazing experience. You guys gave us an experience we will never forget. A chance to forget and diseases, disorders, and illnesses that are going on in our lives. I can’t wait until next year!
