The Month of September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Unfortunately, I know to much about this. I feel like no child should have to go through this.
Here are some statistics you may not havd known.
•Everyday 46 children will be diagnosed with cancer.
•A child is diagnosed every 2 minutes worldwide.
• Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the U.S.
• Childhood Cancer is vastly and constantly underfunded. Childhood Cancer on gets 4% of funding.
• One in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 20 years old.
To be honest, that is very saddening.
Childhood Cancer effects not only the person who has it, but the entire family. I know this first hand, as of June 10, 2016 I am one year Cancer free. For 3 years I endured cancer treatment and the side effects that come with it. Till this day, I still have many side effects. I will fight for all my fellow warriors! Cancer is something no child should ever have to endure. We should not have to have our childhood taken away to deal with something so horrible. We take medicine to heal us everyday that makes us not feel so well, but we dont complain because we want to get better. All the kids I see at the clinic have a glowing smile on there face even though they are fighting this monster. I have lost to many friends and fighters to this deadly disease. It is time to stand up and take a stand. We need to fight for the children that are our future.
I am so thankful for the people in my life that are pouring into me and encouraging me! Tonight, a very special someone did just that.
A friend of mine named, Krystal, asked if I would like to hang out with her and I said, “Yes!” We went to Starbucks and had some coffee and tea and just talked. She really poured into me tonight! I really appreciated it! I have been going through some things emotionally and in my walk with Christ. She really gave me some great advice when talking to me. When we talked I was vulnerable and honest about what was going on. I cried and just let it out, and I am thankful for her being there for me to do that. She has such a beautiful heart and is an amazing woman! Thank you Krystal for the stories, especially the personal stories and advice you shared with me! Again, thanks for pouring into me and being real and open with me! It was such a nice time to talk and be real with someone in person, to talk face to face.
Krystal, you have a special place in my heart and am grateful to have met you! I can’t wait to hang out again! I hope I can pour into you and tell you how amazing you are just like you did for me. I love you!! An I am so thankful for a sister in Christ like you! ??
Today I got yet another comment on my amazing shoes, they were made by Peach’s Neet Feet.
I want to take a moment to honor and thank Madison and her Peach crew! You guys work everyday to bring smiles to kids and teens through amazing works of art on shoes. You hustle kindness everyday! I want to thank you all for all you do! You guys bring so much happiness and smiles to people! I love my shoes and they bring me such a great joy. I love talking about them and sharing how I got them. It is amazing that people put their heart and souls into such amazing soles (get it souls and soles of a shoe!)! I just want to just thank you again! I will always enjoy my shoes and when I grow out of them I will keep them and display them forever. You guys inspire me to hustle kindness and use my talent to bring smiles to other people. I love you guys and thank you again, a million times thank you!
Hey guys! I want to tell you about a great ideal I had! I noticed that my high school did something for Breast Cancer and also when Paris was attacked. I started to think, since September is Childhood Cancer month I would love for them to do something to support it.
My ideal is that everyone can wear fun, bright colored socks for the month in honor of the spirits of the kids fighting. Also to make a banner and hang it in the quad. Then I could make and sell cancer ribbon shaped chocolate (like my family and I did one year) and give the money raised to a cancer foundation. I really want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the world! Not everyone understands what I and other kids and teens like me have and are going through in this battle. It would be great to raise awareness for something that means so much to me!! I want to use my testimony to tell people how great God is and give people incite on what I went through.
