As of February 20th, it has been 4 years since my diagnosis of Pre-B cell ALL Leukemia.
I would like to thank my family for always being by my side fighting this battle with me. This diagnosis didnt onmy affect me, but the closest people around me as well.
I also want to thank God for guiding ne and giving me the strength to fight the battle.
Without God and my family by my side, I dont know how I would be able to handle this.
Yesterday, I came home from school and my mom said she had something for me. She pointed to T.V. stand where there was a clear bag. I was confused about what it was until, I realized that it was……MY PORT! I was so excited! It is a memory I get to keep. It symbolizes all I have went through and the end of a part of my journey. IT IS SO AMAZING! God is good, and I am so thankful that he has been by my side. As well as giving me my family to walk this journey with me.
This Thanksgiving was wonderful! My mom made amazing food as always! And we got to spend it together. We also had been putting things were thankful for throughout the year in a jar and finally read them all. I thank God for giving me my family and along with allowing me to wake up everyday. I also thank God for the journey I have went through, it has made me stronger and my family stronger and closer. Also for the mistakes I have made that have been lessons for me.
One thing, I want you to remember is that you may not have much, but there is always something to be thankful for. If you wake to see another day be thankful….
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Today, I want to wish a happy birthday to my beautiful younger sister Shayla! Today she turns 14 years old.
My Note to Shayla:
Shayla, today I want to wish you a very happy birthday! You have grown so much from the little baby girl I used to take care of. You are so smart, kind, caring, beautiful, funny, and bring joy into a room. I am so thankful to have you as a sister. I hope I am a great example for you as an older sister. I love you with all my heart! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Love Your Big Sister, Alyssa

I used to have a hard time with thinking I was a burden on my family during my cancer journey. I thought because they had to do the majority of things for me I was being a burden. Due to me being sick a lot from treatment an developing AVN, I needed assistance for many things. Sometimes, I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed I was so sick or hurting so badly. My family was always there, though. Looking back I don’t understand why I would or could ever think that! My family loves me so much and would do anything for me. They may get tired of me calling for them every couple minutes for help, but they are happy to help me. They have been by my side throughout this entire journey. I just want everyone going through anything to know, you are not a burden! The people who are helping you are there because they want to be and they care about you. The devil just wants you to think you aren’t good enough to get all the love and help you are receiving. He wants you to push everyone away. God says, “NO, you are my child and you deserve this help and you are NOT a burden!”
Now, whenever I start having thoughts about being a burden I say:
“I am NOT a burden. I need to let people help me. If they ask me if I need help I should say YES. Or if I need help I need to ASK! My family is here to HELP ME and I need to let them. God gave me such an amazing family for a reason; to be there for me, help me, and to love me. I am NOT a burden!”
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I hope you had an amazing day! I am so thankful for my mom! Her and my dad have done so much for me. All the moms out there deserve a day all about them. Get your mom something, whether it’s just a hug and a “I love you”, a homemade card, a store bought card, flowers, chocolates, etc. Just let your mom know you appreciate them. To my mom, “I love you!”
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!
Happy Sibling’s Day! I want to say happy sibling’s day to my wonderful sister and brother!
I am so thankful for my two amazing sibling’s! They are so wonderful! We have our share fair of fights, but ultimately I love them no matter what! I am so proud of you guys in school, your maturity, and how much you have grown! I couldn’t of asked for better siblings. You both each have a lovely personality that makes you both unique and YOU! I love watching you guys grow and watching your faith in God grow. You guys are going to grow up and do amazing things, I just know it! I thank God for giving me such awesome siblings! No matter what I will always love them and be there for them!
